The entire New York Yankees organization is mourning the death of Rachel Minaya. According to the New York Post, the wife of current team executive Omar Minaya was found dead in the couple's New Jersey home on Saturday. The tragic death of Rachel was a shock to everyone, and according to those close to the situation, suicide has been ruled out as the cause of her death.

"Prior to today’s game, we held a moment of silence to mourn the loss of Rachel Minaya, the beloved wife of Yankees Senior Advisor of Baseball Operations Omar Minaya, and the devoted mother to Teddy and Justin Minaya. We send our deepest condolences to Rachel’s family and friends during this time," the Yankees posted on X.

Omar, the New York Yankees Senior Advisor of Baseball Operations, met Rachel in 1989 before becoming engaged in Castiglione della Pescaia, Italy. A few years later, the couple welcomed their first son, Teddy, into the world. In 1999, they had their second son, Justin, who is currently a member of the Portland Trailblazers of the NBA.

Rachel Minaya has been by Omar's side throughout his lengthy MLB career
