Former Yankees captain and five-time World Series champion Derek Jeter started an "Ask me a question" story trend on Instagram. One of his followers jumped on the trend and asked Jeter about the favorite thing he did over the summer. Jeter replied:
"Went away with the entire family for the first time ... took all four kids and Hannah and went away for a month."
Take a look at the screen grab from his reply here:
The NY Yankees drafted Jeter straight out of high school in 1992, and he made his MLB debut with the Bombers in 1995, when he was just 20. That paved way for an unbreakable tie between the greatest ball club in the big leagues and one of the greatest to have played in the MLB.
He spent all 20 seasons of his baseball career with the Yankees, becoming a legend in the Bronx. Derek Jeter is a 14-time All-Star and hung up his cleats in 2014, finishing with an impressive statline of .310 batting average with 3,465 hits, 260 home runs and a whopping 1,311 RBIs. The Bombers retired the No. 2 jersey in his honor, and he was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame in 2020.
Two years before retiring from the big leagues, he met his life partner, Hannah Davis, who was a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, through a common friend. Derek and Hannah confirmed their engagement in 2015 and tied the knot at the Meadowood Napa Valley resort in St. Helena, California, on July 9, 2016.
Derek and Hannah welcomed their first child, a daughter, Bella Raine, on August 17, 2017. The couple welcomed their second child, another daughter, Story Grey, in January 2019. On December 2, 2021, the duo welcomed their third daughter, River Rose Jeter, before their fourth kid, Kaius Green, was born on May 5, 2023.
Derek Jeter reflected on his favorite memories from his illustrious career with the Yankees in MLB
Derek Jeter produced many highlight reels from his illustrious career with the Yankees spanning two decades. One fan asked him about his favorite moment from his MLB career, to which Jeter replied:
"Favorite baseball memory is winning championships in 1996, '98, '99, and 2009."
