Brian Cashman has been the General Manager and Senior Vice President of the New York Yankees since 1998. Although the early part of his quarter century long tenure yielded memorable results, Yankee fans have had little to cheer for in recent times.

Former AL MVP Josh Donaldson's acquisition and subsequent struggles in the pinstripes have left fans of the Bronx Bombers disillusioned and ready to pull the plug on the Cashman era altogether.

Josh Donaldson's contract is seen as bloated and untradeable. His .222 batting average last year did little to allay fears of his decline. This season, the Yankees have cut their losses and kept Donaldson out of the lineup, even with the $21,000,000 owed to him in 2023 still on the books.

Donaldson has only five PAs this season, spending most of his time on the IL. His most recent injury stint was compounded when he sliced his arm. Many Yankees fans doubted the veracity and extent of his injury, believing it to be a helpful excuse for Donaldson's absence.
