New York Yankees top prospects Jasson Dominguez and Spencer Jones are still not entirely off the table and can be included in a trade move before the deadline on Tuesday. The team has been facing a ring drought for the past 14 years and would do anything to fulfill its World Series dream this season.
The Yankees are currently facing a slump, having lost eight of their last 14 games. They need reinforcements in multiple positions. Most of all, they need a couple of good starters, some relief pitchers and some good infield options as well.
According to MLB insider Jeff Passan, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman knows limiting anything during a freefall would be counterproductive, and thus could allow Dominguez and Jones to be a part of a trade deal for their targets.
They have been linked with players like Garrett Crochet from the Chicago White Sox, Tarik Skubal from the Detroit Tigers, Jonathan India from the Cincinnati Reds and a few others to strengthen their squad and better their World Series odds.
Yankees interested in possible reunion with former pitcher, per insider
MLB insider Jon Morosi said that the club is interested in bringing back ex-Yankee Chad Green to the Bronx. They are facing a huge struggle at the bullpen, and adding the Toronto Blue Jays pitcher could help.
"The Yankees are interested in a reunion with Chad Green, which makes sense on a number of levels: He’s having an excellent season in Toronto. He can close or pitch earlier leverage situations. He was a popular teammate in New York. He’s signed for 2025," Morosi said
This season Green has played 28 games with an ERA of 1.88, OPS of 0.98 WHIP and 27 strikeouts.
