Jazz Chisholm Jr. will be a New York Yankee as the Brox Bombers pulled off a trade deal with the Miami Marlins on Saturday. Chisholm has been part of the MLB trade rumor mill for a long time, and the Yanks were one of the top prospects to acquire him.

According to MLB sources, the Yankees will send three minor-league players to the Marlins in return for Chisholm. 20th-ranked prospect and catcher Augustin Ramirez will be one of the players headed to Miami. More details of the trade will be announced by both teams.

There were doubts about whether Chisholm would fit the Yankees' clubhouse culture. While the Pinstripes have their own way of functioning, signing a deal with Chisholm was rather doubtful. However, both teams have now reached an agreement before the MLB trade deadline.

The Yankees need a player like Jazz Chisholm to help bolster their offense. Defensively, Chisholm is expected to contribute as well.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. to help the Yankees at second base

Jazz Chisholm Jr. is probably a much-needed addition in the Bronx. The 26-year-old slugger will help the Yanks at second base. There could be a change in the team's defense since Chisholm might be the perfect fit as the second baseman.

Chisholm could replace Gelyber Torres, while the other players remain the same. The Yanks will also look toward Jazz Chisholm for his offensive contribution. Torres is a right-handed player while Chisholm hits with his left. Having another lefty to their lineup could change things for the Yanks, especially since their offense has been erratic.

Chisholm has been productive for the Marlins and his consistency has proved his worth. The slugger smashed 13 home runs and recorded 50 RBIs. He holds a batting clip of .249 with a .323 OBP and a .730 OPS. In 386 appearances at the plate, he drove in 46 runs with 96 hits.

The Yankees seem to have made a good decision since they could use Chisholm to their advantage on the field. The slugger will also reunite with his former teammate Cody Poteet, who played for the Marlins from 2021 to 2022.
