"You can't BS your children" - When Alex Rodriguez opened up on having 'open dialogue' with his daughters

Alex Rodriguez is a huge family man. He would always try and make time for his daughters, Natasha and Ella during his career in the big league. Now with much more time on his hands, that sentiment has not changed and the family is as close as ever.

Rodriguez has tried his best to spend as much time with his daughters, especially over the last few years. Natasha is already enrolled at the University of Michigan and Ella is not far behind her in her college enrollment.

During a 2023 interview with E! News, the slugger explained he and his daughters would have dinner every night. They also take part in a family meeting every Saturday for 90 minutes to discuss whatever is on their minds.

"We review it and whatever we're talking about, stays there. Because I've been so honest with them, they've given it right back to me & that's pretty cool. You can't BS your children," said Rodriguez.

The open discussions allow the family to understand how each of them feels and keeps everybody in the loop. It also keeps them centered and gives each of them an outlet to share anything that may also worry them.

There is not much either side holds back as the slugger explained that he had been honest with them from the jump. This has allowed his daughters to feel comfortable in sharing whatever is on their minds.

For many dads, seeing their daughters starting to date can be a scary thing. Most dads are ultra-protective of their daughters in this area because they want the best for their family.

For former Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez, it is not much different here. He wants the best for his girls and has some rules set in place for them when they go out for a night on the town.

For starters, A-Rod implements a strict curfew. Like many other parents, he does not go to bed until he knows they are home safe, often impatiently waiting outside for them to return home.

"I wait outside for them" said A-Rod.

He also explained that he has surprised a few dates after revealing himself waiting behind the door. Returning one of the Rodriguez girls back home must be quite a nerve-wracking experience for any young person.
