Free agent outfielder Teoscar Hernandez has been in the MLB since 2016, but it was in 2024 that he finally broke the ceiling. Hernandez was among the major contributors to the Los Angeles Dodgers' winning season.

He signed a one-year deal with the franchise in the last offseason, hoping to reestablish his value in the market. And nine months later, the 2024 World Series champion is one of the most sought-after free agents.

Hernandez had a career year in 2024. He finished with a .272 average, a career-high 33 home runs and 99 RBIs in 154 games. This includes his second All-Star selection and being crowned the MLB Home Run Derby champion. In the postseason, his heroics against the San Diego Padres in the divisional series helped the Dodgers advance and eventually win it all.

On Monday, Teoscar Hernandez looked back on his career-high season, feeling grateful to Dodgers fans. He wrote:

"What a year! 🔥💪🏾 I want to take a moment to thank all the fans for their incredible support throughout this season. You are the driving force that pushes us to give our best in every game, and your energy and passion are felt in every corner of the stadium."

The post included his highlights from the season.

Teoscar Hernandez wishes to resign with Dodgers

Amid free agency, Teoscar Hernandez has let it known that he hopes to return to LA. Though there is reportedly heavy interest from AL teams like the Baltimore Orioles and Boston Red Sox, the Dodgers will be among the teams bidding for the 32-year-old slugger.

“The Dodgers will be my priority in free agency. I will do whatever is possible to return. It’s not in my hands, but if it were, I’d pick them,” Hernandez said on ESPN Deportes after the World Series win.

Even previously, Teoscar Hernandez has acknowledged he prefers to stay with the Dodgers despite better offers from other teams.

“That was one of the best decisions I made in the offseason,” Hernández told The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya in September. “Everybody was saying it was a bad deal because it was a one-year deal, but for me what is important is to get better and win. I’m glad that I’m here.”

With the Dodgers having a star-studded cast, Hernandez is bullish on adding more World Series rings and there is no better team placed to fulfill that goal than the Dodgers.
