Former New York Yankees All-Star Nick Swisher received a heartfelt Instagram note from his wife, JoAnna Garcia, on Father's Day on Sunday. She posted a photo of the Swisher Family and expressed how glad she and their daughters, Emme and Sailor, are to have Swisher in their lives.

“There are so many moments where I look at you (especially with our girls) and feel overwhelmingly grateful. You are such a gift @yourboyswish (Nick Swisher’s IG handle),” Garcia wrote.
“I have seen you do many things, but watching you as a father might be my favorite. The time you spend, the love, the adoration…all of it showing Emme and Sailor how deeply love and respected they are by someone that truly loves them unconditionally. You’re an amazing father (and husband!) and your girls are so lucky to have you. Happy Father’s Day! We love you!, us.”

Nick Swisher replied to Garcia that he’s lucky to have them.

“You guys are the best! I’m the lucky one!”

Nick Swisher is glad to have JoAnna Garcia as his life partner

“Sweet Magnolias” actor JoAnna Garcia met Nick Swisher through a friend’s reference, but they soon connected and started dating when Swisher was at the peak of his career. By the end of 2010, they got engaged and exchanged vows.

“One of the things that really struck me about Nick when I met him was his desire to start a family," Garcia said, according to People. "Becoming a father was so important to him, so I knew right then and there that we were both aligned and wanted to experience parenthood together."

Nick Swisher couldn’t be happier to have Garcia to share their life with.

"I think for the first time in my life, I have a woman who I could not be more proud of," he told People. "We do such a great job really pushing the other one to do better and I think that's what you have to have."

Within a few years of marriage, they first welcomed Emerson Jay Swisher in 2013 and then Sailor Steve Swisher to their family in 2016.

After playing for 12 years and being part of five teams, including the NY Yankees and Oakland Athletics, Swisher's professional career as a player ended in 2015 with the Atlanta Braves. He returned to New York to his former team the next year and retired in 2017. However, he stayed connected to baseball and is now acting as a special advisor to the Yankees.

Nick Swisher was one of the Yankees’ 2009 World Series campaign participants, and it remains to be seen if he can guide the Yankees (50-24) this season to relive their past glory by ending the team’s decade-old World Series drought.
