Born on July 5, 1990, Anderson has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Miami Marlins, Tampa Bay Rays, Atlanta Braves, and Kansas City Royals. Originally from Brainerd, Minnesota, he honed his skills at St. Cloud State University and Mayville State University before beginning his professional journey in the independent leagues.

Anderson made his MLB debut in 2019 with the Marlins, and he quickly established himself as a key player. As of August 2024, he is playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers after signing a minor league contract with them on July 21, 2024.
