Paul Edward Goldschmidt is an American professional baseball first baseman for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB). He joined the Yankees on December 30, 2024, signing a one-year contract, as per Spotrac. He attended The Woodlands High School and played for their baseball team before joining Texas State University, where he played collegiate baseball for the Texas State Bobcats.

The Arizona Diamondbacks selected Goldschmidt as the 246th pick in the eight round of the 2009 MLB Draft. He made his MLB debut on August 1, 2011, for the Diamondbacks and played for them until 2018. On December 5, 2018, the Diamondbacks traded Goldschmidt to the St. Louis Cardinals in a multi-player trade.
