For Pete Alonso, there is likely nothing that the Mets star wants more than to be competing in the ongoing World Series. However, after being eliminated by the Dodgers in the NLCS, the slugger opted for the next best thing — a romantic escape to Paris.
Alonso traded the pinstripes for some more stylish options as he toured the French capital with his wife Haley. On her personal Instagram account, Haley gave her followers a glimpse of her Paris getup, rocking a stylish faux leather jacket presented in a mirror selfie.
A native of Boston, Haley first met Pete Alonso in 2015, when he was playing in the Cape Cod League. Following Alonso's return to the University of Florida, the pair kept up a long-distance relationship while Haley was studying at the University of Michigan.
After maintaining a long-distance relationship throughout their college years, Haley finally married the New York Mets first baseman after the 2021 season. The couple is also very active in charity, founding the Alonso Foundation, which seeks “to stand up for and support those in our community who can't," according to their website.

A former MLB home run leader and Rookie of the Year, watching the World Series between the Dodgers and New York Yankees from Paris must be bittersweet for the Alonso family. In 13 playoff games in 2024, Alonso's .999 OPS led his team, and the 29 year-old hit .273/.431/.568 with 4 home runs and 10 RBIs.

Pete Alonso's Paris escape with Haley is replete with romance
One of the highlights of the Alonso's French trip so far has been dinner at Lafayette's on the famed rue D'Anjou. Haley was sure to take to her Instagram to share some images of the occasion.
This offseason, Alsono will see his one-year, $20.5 million deal expire. Despite being his team's best hitter for the past half-decade, Alonso's club has been tepid about extending the star, despite being the team with the highest payroll in MLB for the 2024 season.
While some serious conversations await him, the star first baseman is taking some well-deserved personal time with the person who matters most to him. .
