Peyton Stovall is an American infielder who has played for the Arkansas Razorbacks for the past three seasons. During his prep career, he was ranked the No.1 overall prospect and the No.1 shortstop in the state of Louisiana. He played high school baseball at Haughton High School where he went undrafted after graduating in 2021. In his senior year at Haughton, Stovall batted .505 with 14 homers and many believed that Peyton would skip college to join the big leagues. He turned down seven-figure offers and could have become a first-round pick in the 2021 MLB Draft. Instead, he decided to fulfil his commitment to play shortstop for the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Stovall began his collegiate journey with Arkansas where he secured a starting role right into his freshman campaign. In 2022, he had a breakout campaign where he slashed in .295/.373/.425 with 59 hits, six homers, 85 total bases and eight doubles in 52 games for the Razorbacks. In 2023 as a sophomore, Stovall was named one of the team captains and started all 38 games in the second base before a season-ending torn labrum sidelined him for the remainder of the campaign. He recorded a slash line of .253/.330/.393 with 38 hits, five homers, four doubles and one hit. In 2024, Stovall was named the team captain for the second year in a row and suffered a broken foot in the pre-season. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound infielder missed the first 12 games of the year but started the remaining 48 games. He recorded a team-leading slash line of .340/.409/.535 with 68 hits, nine home runs and 38 RBI and was named in the All-SEC second team.
