The New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies will match up soon to kick off their respective spring trainings. These two teams come into spring with a lot of questions after New York was swept by the Houston Astros in the ALCS and the Phillies came up just short of winning what would have been a shocking World Series title.

New York Yankees Preview
The New York Yankees come in with a few key questions this season. After winning 99 games last year (which felt like a letdown after their first half), they ran into the buzzsaw Astros and fell apart.
They have a few positions without clear starters and it may force them to evaluate a lot. They haven't decided on a starting left fielder or shortstop at the moment and they're going to try everything to find the best one.
Key player: Oswaldo Cabrera
Oswaldo Cabrera is really the only player they have that can play either left field or shortstop, and he has a case to be the starter at both due to his defense.
In just 28 innings at shortstop, he recorded two defensive runs saved. At third base (28 innings), he had two more. At second base (19 innings), he recorded one DRS.
In the outfield, he recorded nine DRS in almost 280 innings. That is exceptional defensive prowess and it could get him a spot starting in one of those two places.
Philadelphia Phillies Preview
The Philadelphia Phillies come in with a few questions of their own. They have less positional battles, but it will be a key year for them to prove that last year wasn't a fluke.
It will also be the year they want to actually win it all, since no one remembers the Cinderella team that came up short. They went about the offseason trying to do that, but now's the time to put it into action.
Key player- Trea Turner
Trea Turner is their prized offseason acquisition. He could be the piece they needed, but this season will determine that and if he was worth the massive contract he signed.
His ability to do it all on the field will be tested during spring, so Phillies fans will be able to see what he brings to the table for them.
