As the Mets headed into Game 1 of the Subway Series on Tuesday, Francisco Lindor was undoubtedly their strongest hitter. Luckily for the home town crowd, their star shortstop had his biggest fan in attendance to help cheer him on.

On Tuesday night, Lindor's wife, Katia, took their one-year old daughter, Amapola, to Citi Field to watch the game. Katia shared a photo of herself and Amapola on her Instagram story, along with a video of her husband in action.

Katia and Amapola's presence must have brought some good luck for the Mets as they came alive against one of the strongest teams, the New York Yankees. Home runs came off the bats of Brandon Nimmo, Harrison Bader, and two from Mark Vientos to give the Mets an early 9-3 lead. Although the Yankees' Aaron Judge hit a late grand slam, the Mets won 9-7.

While he did not contribute directly to the offense on that particular game, Francisco still played his part. "Mr. Smile" went 2-for-5 with a double, a strikeout and a run scored in front of his wife and their daughter.

Now in his third season with the Mets, he has hit .333/.368/.667 in his last four games. After putting up his fourth 30-home run season with the Mets last year, he is now hitting .244/.311/.436 with 13 home runs and 39 RBIs.

A longtime member of the Cleveland Guardians, he inked a ten-year, $341 million deal with the Mets ahead of the 2022 season. If all goes according to plan, then he and his family will remain in New York until 2031.

After quite a bumpy start to the season, both Francisco and the Mets appear to be heading in the right direction. Now 8-2 over their last ten games, perhaps the team is not quite out of the race yet.
