There are a lot of former superstars on the 2025 MLB Hall of Fame ballot. Every year, the best of the best will be inducted into Cooperstown and immortalized as a true legend in the sport. Last year, three people were inducted, a record for a single cycle. There are a lot of worthy candidates, but here's who's probably getting in in 2025.
Soon-to-be Hall of Famers
This year, it's hard to expect much more than three players to make it in. Billy Wagner almost got in last year, and it's his last year on the ballot. Expect him to get the 1.2% of votes this year to move into the Hall of Fame.
Ichiro Suzuki is in his first year on the ballot, but all signs point to him getting in. So far, he's on 100% of known ballots. He probably won't remain a unanimous first-ballot Hall of Famer, but he's definitely going to be a first-ballot player at this point.
CC Sabathia, former New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians star, is trending toward induction as well. He's been on 93.1% of the ballots revealed so far, and that's more than enough to get in.
MLB HOFers, but not yet
The above are the ones currently believed to be on track for induction. These players are probably going to make it, but it'll take them at least one more try.
Andruw Jones is trending up and got 61.6% of votes last year. It's his eighth year, so he has three more attempts, and he's probably going to get in on his 10th and final year.
Carlos Beltran is on his third year and he's up to 57.1% approval, so he's almost assuredly going to continue rising and get inducted in the next few years.
Probably won't make it into the Hall
Alex Rodriguez has the numbers to make it in, but the steroid use tarnishes his case. However, he's not doing poorly in voting. He has 34.8% going into his fourth attempt. It'll be a long shot, but his steroid use probably turns off a few too many voters.
Most of the rest of the class is not likely to make it, but Chase Utley, Dustin Pedroia and Felix Hernandez will probably come pretty close in their 10 years on the ballot.
