American professional first baseman Rhys Hoskins was born on March 17, 1993, and is currently a free agent, having last played with the Philadelphia Phillies until the 2023 MLB season.


Hoskins was born in Sacramento, California on March 17, 1993 and attended Jesuit High School. Hoskins was later offered a scholarship to play at the Sacramento State Hornets and was named Western Athletic Conference Freshman of the year. He also played with the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod Baseball League in 2013. He was named the league's All-Star while he was there. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2014 MLB Draft and made his debut with them in 2017.


On June 27, 2018, Hoskins became the Phillies' franchise's fastest player to achieve 30 career home runs. He did so in 120 games, passing Hall of Fame outfielder Chuck Klein who did it in 132 games. Hoskins became the Phillies player with the fastest career 100 RBIs on July 3. In 124 games, he achieved a record for the team.
