Ronald José Acuña Blanco Jr. is a Venezuelan professional baseball outfielder for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball. Born December 18, 1997, in La Guaira, Venezuela, Acuna is fondly referred to as “El De La Sabana”.
Acuna signed with the Braves as an international free agent in 2014 and made his MLB debut in 2018. He won the National League Rookie of the Year Award. The next season, Acuña was named an MLB All-Star, was the NL stolen base leader, and won a Silver Slugger Award. In total, he is a four-time MLB All-Star, two-time Silver Slugger Awardee, and has led the National League in stolen bases twice (2019 and 2021). He is also the only player in MLB history to post at least 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in his first 2 seasons.
