Ryan Mountcastle was born on February 18, 1997, in Winter Springs, Florida, and is a first baseman for the Baltimore Orioles in Major League Baseball. Mountcastle went to Oviedo's Hagerty High School. He signed for $1.3 million, foregoing his college baseball commitment at the University of Central Florida. Mountcastle was promoted to the Aberdeen IronBirds after batting .313 with three home runs and 14 RBIs in 43 games in the GCL. Mountcastle spent the 2016 season with the Delmarva Shorebirds, where he hit .281 with ten home runs and 51 RBIs in 115 games. Mountcastle split 2017 between the Frederick Keys and the Bowie Baysox, batting .287 with a career-high 18 home runs and 62 RBIs in 127 games with both teams.


Mountcastle was listed as Baltimore's third-best prospect heading into the 2018 season by MLB.com. He played 102 games for Bowie in 2018, slashing .297/ .341/ 464 with 13 home runs and 59 RBIs. Mountcastle was promoted to the major leagues and made his MLB debut on August 21, 2020. Mountcastle had his first major league hit on August 22, 2020, against the Boston Red Sox in the bottom of the ninth inning. On August 30, he hit his first Major League Baseball home run.

Ryan Mountcastle always enjoyed playing baseball, football, and basketball. He would always enjoy going outside and playing. Ryan’s father was a die-hard Florida fan. His stepfather was a fan of the (Miami) Hurricanes. Mountcaste used to go to UCF football games all the time, thus he was familiar with the school.


Ryan Mountcastle revealed that whenever they have family events coming up, his both parents are always there. Ryan finds it to be cool as we don't see divorced parents being friendly too often.
