San Francisco Giants Projected Lineup: Who will start in right field on Opening Day?

Chicago Cubs v San Francisco Giants
The San Francisco Giants have had an offseason to forget

It has been a disappointing and confusing offseason for the San Francisco Giants. What once looked like a lineup that would house both Aaron Judge and Carlos Correa will now be anchored by Joc Pederson, Mitch Haninger, and Brandon Crawford. While these are solid players, they are not exactly in the same tier as the reigning American League MVP, Aaron Judge.

Although the Giants missed out on Aaron Judge and Carlos Correa, they were able to land several notable players in free agency. Some of the newest members of the San Francisco Giants organization include Taylor Rogers, Mitch Haninger, Michael Conforto, Sean Manaea, and Ross Stripling.

After a disappointing season, which saw the Giants miss the postseason, the latest additions should help San Francisco fight for the postseason yet again. That said, here is a look at the potential starting lineup for the Giants this upcoming season.

The expected starting lineup for the San Francisco Giants for 2023

While the Giants lack a superstar in their lineup, the team is solid from top to bottom. It's not impossible for San Francisco to make another move before the beginning of the 2023 season, however, here is the projected batting lineup entering the new campaign.

A recap of San Francisco's disappointing offseason

After entering the 2022 season as playoff hopefuls, the Giants underperformed their aspirations, missing the postseason with an 81-81 record. The team will be without one of their top players from last season in the form of starting pitcher Carlos Rodon.

"The @Yankees and @Mets both have the best pitching staff in baseball right now but I would have to pick the Yankees with @GerritCole45 and Carlos Rodon because they have dominated the majors since they started playing baseball. @JustinVerlander is the best. #respect" - Brandon Schaer

Rodon was signed by the New York Yankees to a six-year contract, landing with the team that also re-signed Aaron Judge, their number one target. The team will also be without veterans Evan Longoria and Brandon Belt, who signed elsewhere in free agency.
