Shohei Ohtani is a professional Japanese baseball designated hitter and pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Major League Base­ball (MLB). A former player of the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters, Shohei Ohtani debuted in MLB with the Los Angeles Angels on March 29, 2018. He played with the team for six years from 2018 to 2023 before switching over to the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2024. During Shohei Ohtani's career with the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB), he was a five-time NPB All-Star player from 2013 to 2017 as well as the Japan Series Champion in 2016.

Shohei Ohtani has gained numerous accolades since making his debut in the MLB. His most notable achievements among others include being a four-time MLB All-Star player and winning three AL All-Star and one NL All-Star awards. He also led the American League (AL) in home runs with 44 home runs in 135 games in 2023. He then led the National League (NL) in home runs with 54 home runs in 159 games in 2024.
