Shohei Ohtani is a Japanese professional two-way player for the Los Angeles Dodgers in MLB. Notable, by his nicknames, "Showtime", and "The Unicorn", he made his debit for the Los Angeles Angels on March 29, 2018. He spent six years with the team before he changed teams and joined the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2024. Shohei Ohtani began his professional career in Japan, playing for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters in the Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) league, where his impressive form earned him the Pacific League's Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in 2016, along with the Eiji Sawamura Award, given to the best pitcher in the league.

Shohei Ohtani made his debut in the MLB with the Los Angeles Angels on March 29, 2018. Since then, he has been awarded the AL MVP in 2021. He is also a four-time MLB All-Star player and twice a Silver Slugger Awardee. Representing Japan, Ohtani led the team to victory in the final of the 2023 World Baseball Classic against the USA, while also winning the MVP Award for the tournament. Ohtani has very quickly made himself one­ of the most cherished players across the MLB fanbase, displaying raw talent and extraordinary abilities.
