Terry Francona is a professional baseball manager from the USA. He is also known by his full name Terrence Jon Francona and nickname "Tito". The former player serves as the manager of MLB side Cincinnati Reds as of October 2024. The 65-year-old was previously the manager of the Philadelphia Phillies, Cleveland Guardians, and Boston Red Sox. During 1981-1988, he played for the likes of Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Brewers, Montreal Expos, and Cincinnati Reds.

Francona was a Phillies manager for four years and was later hired by the Red Sox in 2004. He helped the Sox to clinch their first title since 1918. He made another championship to his name in 2007 and associated with the team till 2011. As a manager, he helped the Cleveland Indians to win the American League pennant in 2016. His 22-game winning streak is the second-longest and longest in MLB and American League history, respectively. Following this, Francona became the manager with the most wins in Guardian's history.

Tito Francona and Roberta Jackson are the parents of Terry Francona. According to the Cleaveland.com, Terry Francona's birth name was John Patsy Francona. Terry has an Italian lineage from his parents’s side.

Terry Francona’s Father

Tito Francona was a former baseball player who played in the MLB and the big leagues. The former baseman and outfielder for nine different teams for 15 years (1956-70) and debuted with the Baltimore Orioles. Apart from the Orioles, Tito played for Milwaukee, St. Louis, Philadelphia, Oakland, Atlanta, and the Chicago White Sox. Tito played for the Cleveland Indians for five years (1959-1964). Tito scored 378 RBI and batted .284 with 85 home runs with the Indians.

The All-Star in 1961 finished was enlisted into the Top 100 Greatest Indians Roster in 2001. According to USA Today Tito had 5,700 plate appearances, 656 RBI, a .272 average, and 125 home runs. Following his retirement he used to visit Progressive Field with friends by driving 90 miles from New Brighton to watch the Gurdians play. Based on the Bleacher Report, Tito formerly worked in the US Army for two years before his baseball career. He died on February 13, 2018, at the age of 84.

Roberta Jackson was born in 1932. According to Cleveland.com, Roberta was supportive of Terry's career when he was a child. Terry signed up for a pitch, hit, and throw competition when he was 10 or 11. Roberta made a contraption to help Terry practice for the contest. She used a bucket with cement and a fishnet to catch his son's throw. Roberta Jackson died of breast cancer at the age of 60in 1992.

According to Mega Magazine, Terry Francona is single as of October 2024. However, he was formerly married to Jacque Lang for almost 30 years (1982-2013). The 65-year-old works as a store manager at Sherwin Williams. According to Mass Live, Jacque Lang is involved in various social activities and one of them was attending a program as a speaker for children whose family members worked in the US Army in 2012.

Terry Francona has four kids, three daughters and one son.

Nicholas Francona is the son and Alyssa, Leah, and Jamie Francona are Terry Francona and Jacque Lang's daughters. Nicholas is a lieutenant in the US Marine Corps and played for the University of Pennsylvania. The Boston Red Sox first drafted Nicholas in 2013. Alyssa and Leah played in the softball team of the University of North Carolina. His other daughter Jamie completed graduation from the United States Naval Academy in 2016.
