With a full slate of MLB games on the schedule, home runs will be out in full force. Top sluggers will be out to send the ball into the seats, and others will do the same. It's your job, if you're interested in this particular prop bet, to figure out who will do that today. To that end, we've compiled Aug. 7's best bets for home run hitters.
Best MLB home run prop bets for August 7
5) Jose Ramirez: +500
Jose Ramirez is one of baseball's most prolific sluggers. The Cleveland Guardians star is once again among the league leaders in home runs with 29 (tied for fifth). Today, he gets to face right-handed pitcher Brandon Pfaadt. This will allow him to bat lefty where he is better. He has the longest odds we have today, but he's still a good pick.
4) Elly De La Cruz: +450
Elly De La Cruz had a multi-home run game recently, so he's in good form right now. The Cincinnati Reds star has 20 bombs this season and with Valente Bellozo starting opposite him, there's a pretty strong chance he is one of today's home run hitters.
3) Gunnar Henderson: +450
Gunnar Henderson has certainly cooled off considerably in the second half, but the Baltimore Orioles star still has 29 home runs this season. That's more than all but five hitters, and he's a good bet to take Bowden Francis and his 5.64 ERA deep today.
2) Yordan Alvarez: +280
Yordan Alvarez is one of the best hitters in baseball. The Houston Astros slugger has 21 home runs already this year. With Jose Urena (a right-handed pitcher) on the mound, there's a good chance he will end up with another one today as he keeps rolling.
1) Brent Rooker: +275
Brent Rooker has quietly put together an incredible season. The Oakland Athletics slugger ranks seventh in all of baseball with 28 home runs. His other stats are great, too, but the home runs are coming fast and furious of late for Rooker.
