Hitting a home run is one of the best things an MLB hitter can do. It has also become a frequent occurrence across the sport every day and thus, a very popular prop bet.
Figuring out who will or won't hit a home run on a given day is a fun challenge. Here's who we believe are July 28's best picks.
Best home run prop bets July 28
5) Rhys Hoskins: +400
Rhys Hoskins was a prolific home run hitter before coming to the Milwaukee Brewers (when healthy). Even still, he has 17 so far this season, so it's not as if he's fallen off. He's a pretty good bet today against right-handed pitcher Kyle Tyler, especially after hitting home runs in his previous two games.
4) Teoscar Hernandez: +400
The Home Run Derby champion always has a good shot of hitting a home run on any day. Los Angeles Dodgers star Teoscar Hernandez has a good chance today. He has 21 home runs so far this season.
3) Bryan De La Cruz: +370
Bryan De La Cruz hasn't done a lot of hitting for the Miami Marlins, but when he has, it has often left the ballpark. The slugger has 18 home runs so far this season, and he has a good matchup with Tobias Myers of the Milwaukee Brewers today.
2) Trea Turner: +310
Trea Turner gets to face Joey Cantillo on Sunday. That's a very good matchup for Turner to take advantage of. He is hitting well over .300 this season. Known for average, he does still have 13 home runs and could add to that today.
1) Jose Ramirez: +260
Jose Ramirez is today's best bet to hit a home run. The Cleveland Guardians slugger has been prolific all season, hitting 24 home runs (good for eighth in all of baseball). He's been slugging well, too, with a .833 OPS. He's a good bet against the Philadelphia Phillies and Kolby Allard.
