On any given game day in the MLB, there will be home runs hit. Each game will likely feature a few homers, as modern hitters seek to smash them more often now. It's still hard, but there will be some. It's the sports bettor's job to try and predict which ones will and won't. To that end, we've compiled the best bets from DraftKings today. Yesterday, one of our picks went deep.
Best MLB home run prop bets for August 23
5) Corbin Carroll: +750
Corbin Carroll has struggled much of the season, which is why he has just 14 home runs to his name at this point. However, the Arizona Diamondbacks star is rounding into form. He's hit three (half of his August total) home runs in the last seven days.
4) Ian Happ: +550
Ian Happ is another longshot today, but he has 22 home runs to his name so far. The Chicago Cubs player is only hitting .230, but when he hits, they tend to be homers. That makes him a solid pick for today.
3) Vladimir Guerrero Jr.: +475
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been hitting well of late. He has 26 home runs on the season, but just one in the last seven days. The Toronto Blue Jays star has rediscovered his power stroke this year, and he's due for a homer soon. That could be today.
2) Riley Greene: +370
Detroit Tigers star Riley Greene has 18 home runs this season, but just one of them has been in August. That one came yesterday against the Chicago Cubs, and it could be the beginning of a breakout. The power came back to him yesterday, and it very well could have stayed with him today.
1) Shohei Ohtani: +340
Shohei Ohtani has 39 home runs so far this year. He's on the precipice of being the second player to break the 40-mark in baseball this season. He has two in the last seven days, so he's in good form. That makes the Los Angeles Dodgers star today's best bet, though his odds aren't all that strong.
