Thomas Hyunsu Edman is a professional baseball utility player for the St.Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball. He was born on May 9, 1995, in Pontiac, Michigan, U.S. to parents John Edman, Jr. and Maureen Kwak Edman.
He completed his high school education at La Jolla Country Day School in San Diego, California. He later attended Stanford University and played for the Stanford Cardinals. He went on to play in the New England Collegiate League for the Newport Gulls and later in the Cape Cod Baseball League for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. Edman was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2016 MLB draft. Under the St. Louis Cardinals’ organization, he played for the State College Spikes and was the New York-Penn League All-Star. He played in the Minor Leagues before finally making his debut in 2019 with the Cardinals. Edman won the Gold Glove Award in 2021 and the Fielding Bible Award in 2022.
