It's tough a find a true MLB fan that doesn't love a good comeback. Whether is be a come from behind victory or player returning from injury to thrive in the spotlights, everybody loves a comeback. Throughout the 100+ years of baseball, there have been some iconic comebacks that have cemented themselves in the rich tapestry of the league's history.

This past season was no different as a fans, experts, and players were treated to a few comebacks that made everyone fall in love with the game all over again. There were a number of MLB comebacks in 2024 that have stuck in the hearts and minds of fans months after the end of the World Series. #1 - Royals close eight-run deficit to steal victory from Mariners

There was no comeback this past season than proved that it is never over unitl the final out is called. On June 7, the Kansas City Royals orchestrated an incredible comeback after being down 8-0 in the 4th inning against the Seattle Mariners.

Thanks to a home run from MJ Melendez and a triple by Bobby Witt Jr. the Royals managed to score four runs in the 4th inning, three runs in the 6th inning, and three more runs in the 9th to pick up the win.

#2 - Pete Alonso help clinch NLDS berth with 3-run home run

Even though Pete Alonso has hit over 200 home runs for the New York Mets, he's biggest and most impactful came during the 2024 MLB playoffs. In a winner-take-all Game 3 of the NL Wild Card against the Brewers, the Mets entered the 9th inning down 2-0. The first baseman sent the baseball world into a frenzy, hitting a 3-run homer to give them the lead. The Mets won 4-2 and advanced to the NLDS.

#3 - Guardians stun Yankees in Game 3 of ALCS

"Big Christmas" Jhonkensy Noel etched his name in Cleveland Guardians history in Game 3 of the ALCS. Cleveland entered the bottom of the 9th inning down 5-3 and called upon Noel in a pinch-hit situation. The rookie demolished a two-run home run to send the game to extra-innings. David Fry delivered his own two-run homer to seal the comeback for Cleveland and keep their MLB playoff hopes alive.

#4 - Corbin Carroll finishes the Nationals in epic fashion

Corbin Carroll has become a true MLB superstar and even though he had a bit of a down 2024 season by his standards he still helped deliver an epic home run to seal a Diamondbacks comeback for the ages.

The D-backs were down 8-2 in the bottom of the 7th against the Washington Nationals on July 29. In the bottom of the 9th inning, the D-backs put up five runs with Carroll ending festivites with a pinch-hit walk-off home run to complete the comeback.

#5 - Detroit Tigers take down the World Series champs

The Detroit Tigers were one of the feel-good stories of 2024. After looking like they were out of the postseason picture, the Tigers made a late-season comeback to clinch a playoff berth. This was not the first time that the team was forced to fight with their backs against the wall as Detroit left MLB fans buzzing after a 9th inning comeback against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

On July 13, the Tigers found themselves down 9-4 to the eventual World Series champs, however, they did not give up. The Tigers strung together a series of hit, culminating with a two-run home run by Colt Keith to tie the game and force extra innings. It would be Gio Urshela to to complete the victory, sending the Motown fans into a frenzy after hitting a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning.
