Originally formed in 1977, the Toronto Blue Jays are named after the Blue Jay bird and their blue jersey is similar to the same colored jerseys worn by other professional teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL) and the Toronto Argonauts (CFL).
Notably, the Blue Jays are the only team outside the U.S. to appear in and win a World Series. While doing so, they also became the fastest AL expansion team to do so, winning in its 16th year. They are also one of only two MLB franchises that are undefeated through multiple World Series appearances, along with the Miami Marlins. In total, they have claimed two World Series titles, two American League (AL) titles and seven AL East Division titles so far.
Presently, they are the only team based out of the United States and is one of the two teams alongside the Atlanta Braves to be under corporate ownership.

Hailing from Princeton, New Jersey, United States, John Patrick Schneider played varsity baseball at Lawrence High School and college baseball for the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens at the University of Delaware. Notably, he was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2022, but his career was brought to an end due to him suffering three concussions in 2007.
He then shifted towards a coaching career starting with minor leagues in 2008. Over the years, he went on to coach several minor league teams. Notably, he was added to the major league coaching staff by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2019 and was promoted to be the bench coach in 2022. That same season, he was also made interim manager of the team. Remarkably, his excellent performance led the team to declare him as a full-time manager after the season.
