Wednesday's Pool C game between the USA and Colombia may very well determine the outcome of the World Baseball Classic. If the United States loses the important matchup, it would create a three-way tie in Pool C. A loss for the U.S. would lead to a tie with Colombia and the loser of the game between Team Mexico and Team Canada.

Entering the World Baseball Classic, the United States was one of the favorites to win the entire tournament. However, depending on the results of today's games, the Americans face the risk of being eliminated in the opening round.

While the Americans will be heavily favored against the Colombian squad, if we have learned anything from this year's international tournament, any team can beat any other team.
