The 2023 World Baseball Classic is starting very soon. Spring Training has just begun for MLB teams, but many of their players will be stepping away for a little bit in a few weeks.
Team United States, Team Dominican Republic and Team Japan are the favorites to win it all. However, there are plenty of excellent teams out there ready to make some waves.

2023 World Baseball Classic: A complete guide to scheduling, television and more
The first official part of the 2023 World Baseball Classic will be the beginning of pool play. That is when teams will play each team in their pool and earn wins and losses and eventually, the leaderboard leaders will move on.
After that, they'll play the quarterfinals, then the semifinals and then the championship between the two final teams. Here's what the schedule is for all of those events:
- Pool play is March 7-15
- Quarterfinals is March 15-18
- Semifinals is March 19-20
- Championship is March 21
The very first match will occur on March 7 at 11.00 pm EST. This will be Cuba vs. Netherlands. It is the only match that day, but from March 8 to March 15, there will be multiple matches every day.
