When former MLB star Jim Edmonds accused media of sabotaging his marriage with ex-wife Meghan King

Jim Edmonds had an illustrious baseball career. However, his time off the field was filled with controversies. He was involved in a tumultuous marriage with his ex-wife Meghan King. Before their marriage ended in 2019, Meghan and Jim Edmonds were the subjects of adultery allegations and fertility rumors.

In 2019, as reported by US Weekly, Edmonds called out the media for what he perceived was an attempt to ruin his marriage:

“I’m outraged over the intent to ruin my family and intend to take legal action. We were never having any problems in our marriage."

Edmonds, renowned for his defensive skills, was a powerful hitter as well, batting .284 with 393 home runs and an on-base plus slugging percentage (OPS) of .903.

Jim Edmonds was accused of cheating on Meghan King

According to reports, Edmonds was accused of cheating on King. However, he refuted the allegations in an interview with US Weekly.

"I never had any sort of a physical relationship outside of my marriage. Regrettably, I had a lapse in judgment. I engaged in an inappropriate conversation. At no time was there any type of relationship or physical contact. Absolutely none. This is someone trying to profit from my name."

Edmonds filed for divorce in 2019 just a day after their fifth anniversary. The divorce was made official in 2021.
