In a December 2017 Vogue interview, New York Mets star pitcher Justin Verlander's wife, Kate Upton, spilled all the fun details of choosing a vacation-like escape for their nuptials in Tuscany, Central Italy.
Tuscany was their one and only option when choosing a location because it was one of the first places they vacationed together when they were dating each other.
“It was really important to Justin and me that it feel like we were on vacation with our closest friends and family,” Kate explained.
Upton added how they picked a resort that came with a picturesque vista.
“We fell in love with the Rosewood Castiglion Del Bosco resort because of its amazing history and incredible scenery,” Kate says. In addition to boasting breathtaking views, all of the couple’s friends and family were able to stay on the same property, which only added to the fun."
"We set up an entire afternoon dedicated to interactive games, which we called the Uplander Olympics. Each guest received game-day rules, and everyone was divided into teams with custom Under Armour jerseys. The games included a ping-pong tournament, cornhole, a football toss, relay races, and an epic water balloon fight!”

Kate and Justin met during a commercial shoot for MLB and hit it off instantly. After dating for four years, the pair finally got hitched for life in November 2017, right after Verlander won the World Series with the Houston Astros.
Justin Verlander and Kate Upton's November 2017 wedding was in jeopardy
New York Mets legendary pitcher Justin Verlander and his wife, Kate Upton, had to skip their destination wedding in Italy to attend Game 7 of the 2017 World Series.
Justin was a member of the Detroit Tigers at the time the couple planned their Italian wedding. However, in August 2017, the Houston Astros acquired him from the Tigers in a last-minute trade.
So, when the Astros reached the 2017 World Series, the duo had to give their wedding a miss and attend Game 7. That year, the Astros clinched the World Series for the first time in the franchise's history by defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers 5–1.
