Anthony Volpe has always wanted to play for his dream team, the New York Yankees. The shortstop's dream of joining the Yankees was realized with the first round of the 2019 MLB draft.
In 2019, Volpe was present at Yankee Stadium after signing a contract to turn pro and forgo a college career at Vanderbilt. Expressing his excitement and happiness, Volpe said:
“I’ve been getting goosebumps the whole day. It’s such a dream come true."
Anthony Volpe was not thought to have a chance of cracking the squad before the 2023 season.
