Born on June 24, 1999, in Venezuela, Abreu began his professional baseball journey when he signed with the Houston Astros as an international free agent on July 2, 2017. After gaining experience in minor leagues, including the Dominican Summer League, Abreu was traded to the Red Sox in 2022.
