Team USA is ready for World Baseball Classic 2023

The World Baseball Classic 2023 is set to kick off very soon, with group play beginning as early as tomorrow. The United States, however, don't play for a little while.

They're in Group C, which doesn't begin play until March 11. The group also features Mexico, Colombia, Canada and Great Britain.

Team USA features some of the best talents in the world, including:

  • Mike Trout
  • Nolan Arenado
  • Pete Alonso
  • Paul Goldschmidt
  • JT Realmuto
  • Ryan Pressly
  • Mookie Betts

Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming tournament for the United States, including their schedule and who they might be playing.

The bracket pits Pool C and Pool D against one another on one side and Pools A and B on the other. Here's what the official bracket looks like.

The United States will play in at least four games to face off against each of their intra-pool opponents. Their current schedule looks like this:

  • March 11 10 p.m. Great Britain vs. USA Fox
  • March 12 10 p.m. Mexico vs. USA FS1
  • March 13 10 p.m. Canada vs. USA FS1
  • March 15 10 p.m. USA vs. Colombia FS1

Everything after that depends on whether or not the United States advances past the group stage of the World Baseball Classic.

If they win Pool C, they will play the Pool D runner-up, which will either be Puerto Rico, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Israel or Nicaragua.

If Team USA is the World Baseball Classic 2023 runner-up in Group C, they will play whichever of the aforementioned teams is the winner of Group D.

The last time the United States was on the field for the WBC in 2017, they won it all. Will they be able to repeat? Perhaps, but the oddsmakers favor another country to win it all.

Right now, the Dominican Republic is +210 to win it all, the current betting favorites. Right behind them, the United States is +260, so they could win it, but they'll have strong competition.

For streaming, there are options such as Hulu or Prime Video. FuboTV also has live channels and a free week of streaming. All games will be on a FOX channel, so cable packages can work too.
