Morales attended G. Holmes Braddock Senior High School in Miami, Florida. After going unselected in the shorted 2020 Major League Baseball draft, Morales enrolled at the University of Miami to play college baseball.
He is a four-year varsity letterman at Braddock, where he was also a three-time captain. Named 2019 Under Armour and Perfect Game All-American, Morales earned a seat in the 18U USA National Baseball Team in 2019. Morales went on to be selected to the USA Baseball National Collegiate Team on the back of an impressive showing in 2022.
