Yoshinobu Yamamoto is a professional baseball player from Japan. The 26-year-old was born in Bizen, Okayama, Japan on August 17, 1998. Yamamoto plays as a pitcher for the MLB side LA Dodgers as of October 2024. He formerly played for the Orix Buffaloes in Nippon Professional Baseball.

The three-time Triple Crown winner has also won the Most Valuable Player of the Pacific League and the Eiji Sawamura Award. After winning the Triple Crown for three back-to-back years, he became only the second player in the game to achieve the feat. He signed a 12-year deal with the LA Dodgers after the 2023 season for $325 million.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s Injury History

Based on MLB.com, Yoshinobu Yamamoto faced the first injury on December 27, 2023, due to triceps tightness. He was put on a 15-day injured list by the LA Dodgers. He faced another injury, again a triceps tightness on July 13, 2024. He was on a 15-day injury list first and then moved to a 60-day injury list for the same. Yamamoto was activated from the 60-day injury list on September 10, 2024.

According to Dodgers Blue, Yamamoto reported his triceps injury in June 2024 and the team placed him on the injury list for 15 days. He was diagnosed with the injury initially. He also faced a right rotator cuff strain during this period. However, he is not facing the pain anymore and is progressing well. The team also removed him from the injury list and started to catch play and throw practices.

Yamamoto faced the injury when he threw a season-high 106 pitches. He later informed about his injury to the pitching coaches of the Dodgers. He started an impressive season before his injury. Yamamoto faced the Kansas City Royals for just two innings and was put on the injury list the following day.
