Aaron Wiggins played three seasons at the University of Maryland. In his freshman season (2018/19), Wiggins showcased his scoring prowess as an elite shooter off the bench. He shot 41.3% from deep in his freshman season, which ranks 11th in Maryland history. Despite being a freshman, some of his best individual games came against the ranked colleges.

During his sophomore season (2019/20), Maryland shared the conference title due to the COVID-19 pandemic as the post season was canceled. He registered his first double-double — 13 points and 13 rebounds against Rhode Island and was ranked second on the team for most 3-pointers made (53). He was also awarded the Big 10 Conference Sixth Man of the Year award for the 2019-20 season.

In his junior season (2020/21), Wiggins had the second most points on the team, and had multiple 20 point games. He averaged 14.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game as a junior.

Nevertheless, his talent and potential were evident, and after his junior season, Wiggins made the decision to declare for the 2021 NBA Draft.
