Alex Caruso plays as a backup point guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder, as of January 2025. Alex Caruso went undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft, but he made it to the NBA by getting two-way contracts. His signed his first two-way contract was with the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2016. After that, he signed another two-way contract with was with the Los Angeles Lakers after the 2017 NBA Summer League.

In the 2018 offseason, LeBron James joined the Lakers, and Caruso had a quick connection with the Hall of Famer. Caruso’s highlighting dunks and high IQ plays earned Caruso the nickname, "Bald Mamba”. His growth as a reliable shooter and defender was key for the Lakers as they won the NBA Championship in 2020. In the 2024 off-season, Caruso was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Josh Giddey and signed a four-year extension with the Thunder worth $81 million in December 2024.
