Born on November 7, 2003, in Richardson, Texas, Cason Wallace is a player for the Oklahoma City Thunder who plays as a combo guard. Drafted as the 10th overall pick by the Dallas Mavericks in the 2023 NBA Draft, Wallace was traded to OKC along with David Bertans for 12th overall pick Dereck Lively II. Cason Wallace played college basketball for Kentucky and was a five-star recruit coming out of high school. Wallace played for Kentucky for only his freshman year and then declared for the 2023 NBA Draft. In one college season, Wallace averaged 11.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.0 steals per game. His highest points scored in college were 27, against Florida A&M University; he recorded his highest assists (11) against Mississippi State, and his highest steals (8) against Michigan State.

Wallace was ranked second in total assists with 136 assists and second in assists per game with 4.2 in the SEC Division. He was also fourth in total assists and steals per game, which earned him a place in the SEC All-Freshman team. Wallace played his best college game against Kansas State in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament. He scored 21 points on 81% from the field, shooting 1/1 from the 3-point line and 2/2 from the free-throw line with nine rebounds (highest in college career) and two steals. Despite his performance, Kentucky fell short to Kansas State, and Wallace then declared for the 2023 Draft.
