Dillon Brooks is a professional Canadian basketball forward for the Houston Rockets in the 2025 NBA season. The Rockets drafted Brooks with the 45th pick in the second round of the 2017 NBA Draft. Although he was drafted by the Houston Rockets, he was traded on draft night to the Memphis Grizzlies. Brooks played six seasons for the Memphis-based franchise before being released by the franchise. He signed with the Rockets in the 2023-24 season and has since been an integral part of the team.

Brooks is known for his gritty gameplay and great defensive skills. The Canadian forward was recognized as the best Defensive Player in the 2023 FIBA World Cup, where his defensive prowess helped Canada snag the bronze medal match by ruling out the USA in the third-place match. He averaged 15.1 points and 2.9 rebounds per game on an impressive three-point shooting of 58.8% during the tournament. In the 2022-23 NBA season, the Grizzlies had a standout year, and Brooks was a major reason for it. He averaged 14.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game and helped the team to finish as second-seeded in the West with a 51-31 record. Brooks scored a career-high 37 points against the Portland Trail Blazers on December 19, 2021. He shot 48% from the field, making 12 field goals out of 25 attempts. He shot 40% from beyond the arc, making four out of 10 three-point attempts. Brooks grabbed three rebounds in the game, along with three assists and a steal. More recently, in January 2025, the Canadian-born Brooks scored 36 points(his highest) with the Rockets in a win against the Boston Celtics as he set a Rockets franchise record with 10 three-point shots made in a single game.
