Dillon continued to have great performances during his second season of college. He led the Oregon Ducks men’s basketball team to the Pac-12 Conference regular season title. Along with this, Dillon was regarded as a first-team All-Pac-12 and recognised as a third-team All-American by the Sporting News.

Moreover, Dillon Brooks turned into being regarded as the District IX Player of the Year by the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA). During his second season, he averaged 16.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game.

At the end of the 2015-16 season, Dillon decided to stay at college and play with the college’s basketball team. But, he suffered from a foot injury in the summer of 2016 that forced him to miss several basketball championships including Oregon’s offseason trip to Spain. After the 2016-17 season, Dillon went pro and decided to showcase his skills at the grand stage of the NBA. For this, he left the University of Oregon and declared for the 2017 NBA draft.

Professional Career

Dillon Brooks was drafted by the Houston Rockets as the 45th overall selection within the 2017 NBA draft but was immediately traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. Dillon scored 19 points during his first match for the Memphis Grizzlies and set a new record as a Canadian-born player. Over his time with this group, he displayed his scoring prowess and defensive skills. Dillon’s tenure with this team included numerous notable moments including a career-high 36 points in a match against the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2018. Despite injury setbacks, he extended his contract with the same team for three years in 2020.

A turning point came in Dillon’s basketball journey in July 2023 when he joined the Houston Rockets via a sign-and-trade agreement.
