Donte DiVincenzo is a professional basketball player currently playing as a shooting guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves. DiVincenzo played college ball for the Villanova Wildcats with future NBA stars, Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart. In his freshman season, DiVincenzo played in nine games with Villanova before sitting out the season with a fractured foot. This allowed DiVincenzo to play the next season as his red-shirt freshman year where he averaged 8.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. In his sophomore season, DiVincenzo upped his scoring to 12 points and 5 rebounds a game. However, in the 2018 NCAA tournament, Donte DiVincenzo was named the Final Four’s Most Outstanding Player and had a career-high 31 points in Villanova’s championship game victory over Michigan.
DiVincenzo was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 17th overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft. However, he ended up missing most of his rookie season with a foot injury. Since then, DiVincenzo became a regular in the Bucks starting lineup and made a name for himself with his defensive abilities and deep-range shooting. He was deemed to be the best on-ball defender on the team and with his three-point shooting ability, became the quintessential 3-and-D player for the Bucks. Towards the late end of the 2021 season, DiVincenzo suffered a fracture in his right foot causing him to miss the entirety of the 2021 playoffs. Yet, the Milwaukee Bucks won the 2021 NBA championship, giving DiVincenzo the first ring of his career. Since then, DiVincenzo has played for the Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors, and New York Knicks. Now, he plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
