History
France’s national basketball team has a rich history and is currently one of the highest-ranked teams in the World. Their first appearance at an international level tournament was in 1935 when they played in EuroBasket. Immediately the next year, they played in the 1936 Olympics, finishing 19th, and then in the 1948 Olympics, won the silver medal. Barring a few years in between when they did not qualify, France has been a part of the FIBA World Cup for the majority of the tournament's existence. The France team has participated 10 times in the Summer Olympics and they have won three silver medals in 1948, 2000, and 2020.

Rudy Gobert is one of the greatest defensive players ever to play the game of basketball. A recipient of the Defensive Player of the Year thrice, Gobert has cemented himself in French lore as one of the greatest players to come from French origin. He was a part of the silver medal-winning team in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Nicholas Batum
Nicholas Batum is the most experienced player of the French team in the Summer Olympics 2024. Joining the NBA in 2008, Batum plays as a Small Forward and Power forward for the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA. Batum along with Embiid led the Philadelphia 76ers to the playoffs in the 2023-24 season.
Victor Wembanyama
