Victor Wembanyama-led France will square off against reigning world champions Germany in the first semifinal of the 2024 Paris Olympics men's basketball on Thursday. It will be the 13th meeting between the two European giants on the international stage.

Les Bleues registered an 82-73 win over Canada in the quarterfinal on Tuesday. On the flipside. Dennis Schroder and Co. beat Greece 76-63 in their last-eight clash.

The France vs Germany 2024 Paris Olympics semifinal is scheduled to take place on Aug. 8 (Thursday) at the Bercy Arena in Paris.

The tip-off is slated for 11:30 a.m. ET (8:30 a.m. PT). The game will be telecast on the USA Network, while live streaming will be available on Peacock, NBCOlympics.com and Fubo.

Generational talent Victor Wembanyama has led France's charge from the front. The San Antonio Spurs center leads the team in points, rebounds, assists and steals. The reigning NBA Rookie of the Year averages 14.5 points, 11 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.8 steals per game.

Les Bleues' quarterfinal win was powered by role players, who exploded with phenomenal performances in the knockout game. France will hope that these players continue to complement superstar Wembanyama.

France is the third-worst offense in the tournament, averaging 81.3 points per game. The hosts have shot the 3-ball at a decent clip (36%) but averages 14.8 turnovers per game, so France will want to be more disciplined against a quality Germany team.
