Jalen Brunson is a professional basketball player who plays for the New York Knicks in the NBA as of February 2025. Brunson played college basketball for Villanova University. He led his college team to 2 NCAA championships and was named Player of the Decade in NCAA Div-I by Sporting News. After a successful college career, Brunson declared for the NBA Draft in 2018. He was selected by the Dallas Mavericks as the 33rd overall pick in the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft.

With yet another superstar, Luka Doncic, Jalen Brunson took the Mavs to the Conference finals in 2022. However, eventual NBA champions Golden State Warriors halted their progress. After playing four seasons for the Mavs, Brunson was traded to the New York Knicks in 2022. In the first season with the Knicks, Brunson averaged 24 points, 6.2 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game. However, in the season 2023-24, Brunson led the Knicks to the playoffs where he averaged 28.7 points, 6.7 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game. The Knicks reached the semifinals of the Eastern Conference but lost to the Indiana Pacers.

According to USA Basketball, Brunson played for the U.S. national team in the U-18 FIBA Americas championship in 2014. He set the record for most assists (13) in a single game in the opening game and led the team to the Gold Medal in the Tournament. In 2015, Jalen Brunson was again selected for the US national team for the U-19 World Cup, where he led the team with 5.6 assists and 2.4 steals helping sharpshooters like Jaylen Brown and others to take on the scoring load. Brunson was rewarded with an MVP award in the tournament.
