After averaging 18.7 points and 12.2 rebounds as a senior, Williams was named Arkansas Gatorade Player of the Year.

As a four-star recruit coming out of high school, Williams played two years of college basketball for the Arkansas Razorbacks. He was then named on the SEC All-Defensive Team and First-team All-SEC by the coaches. However, after just two years in college, Williams declared for the 2022 NBA draft and forgo his remaining college eligibility.
