Jalen Brunson is expected to lace up for the New York Knicks as they gear up for the second night of their back-to-back. After starring in a record 44-point night against the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday, Brunson and the Knicks host the Detroit Pistons at Madison Square on Monday.
The guard dished out an elite performance despite battling a shoulder injury that forced him to exit in the third quarter on Sunday. He returned to the game later on as the Knicks blew out the Bucks 140-106. His performance saw Brunson tying former Knicks star Carmelo Anthony for third on the franchise list with his 17th game of 40 or more.
Head coach Tom Thibodeau later shed light on the injury, calling it a shoulder stinger. Jalen Brunson added he did some strength tests before taking a call on his availability. He told reporters that they would need to ask the doctors for more clarity and check the injury report to see if he would be able to play against the Pistons.

Josh Hart hilariously roasts Jalen Brunson of faking injury to catch the Eagles' game
On the lighter side, Jalen Brunson's teammate Josh Hart believed the guard had faked his injury to check on the Philadelphia Eagles game. Speaking to the reporters postgame, Hart had a hilarious dig:
"Yeah, he wanted to see the score of the Eagles game. So I told him next time he could just ask somebody and not go into the back, but to each his own."
Brunson ended with 44 points on 16-26 shooting from the field and 5-10 from the deep. He was 7-8 from the free-throw line. He had five rebounds and six assists along with a steal. He was ably assisted by Karl-Anthony Towns with 30 points and 18 assists, while Cameron Payne had 18 points off the bench. This season sees Brunson averaging 25.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 7.5 assists.
