New York fans are not happy with Jalen Brunson wearing a Philadelphia Eagles jersey on Monday night. Brunson is a lifelong Eagles supporter, which bothers some of his fans, as he plays for the Knicks. The Eagles have a historic rivalry with the New York Giants in the NFL.

Brunson was at Lincoln Financial Field on Monday to show his support for the Eagles for their game against the visiting Atlanta Falcons. He was with Eagles legend Jason Kelce, who was one of the key players in their 2018 Super Bowl triumph.

The 28-year-old guard grew up in South New Jersey, which is an area with primarily Eagles fans. He also went to Villanova for three years, so it's not surprising that he supports the team.

Jalen Brunson is not required to support the New York Giants or even the New York Jets even though he plays for the New York Knicks. However, fans are upset to see the Knicks' best basketball player wearing a Philadelphia Eagles jersey.

"Not gonna lie that sh*t sucks seeing him in a Philly jersey SMH," a fan wrote.
"I never want to hear anyone call Jalen Brunson the King of New York ever again," one fan opined.
"He brings a chip to NY, he could wear a Red Sox uniform to Yankee Stadium for all I care," another fan claimed.

While some fans are angered by Jalen Brunson's Eagles fandom, others continue to proclaim him as the "King of New York." Brunson has changed the culture of the Knicks, and the front office made moves to solidify their roster for a potential championship run.

"He did spend most of his childhood in south Jersey and went to Villanova," a fan explained.
"He's the king of NY sports. NBA on top of mlb right now," one fan responded.
"Kobe was the King of LA and a Philadelphia fan. Let Jalen represent his Eagles in peace," another fan remarked.

Over the past year, there has been a big debate about how NBA and NFL players could transition into the other sport without a hitch. NBA players think that they can play football, while NFL players claim that no basketball player is capable of making the jump.

On Monday Night Football on ESPN, Jalen Brunson was asked by Jason Kelce about the debate. Brunson believes that it would be easier for NBA guys to play football although he knows that the sport is not for him after playing it when he was a kid.

"I would say it's easier for an NBA guy to play in the NFL. I'm not saying it's easy, it's easier. ... I played for two years when I was a kid, and I realized this was not for me," Brunson said.

While Kelce didn't directly agree with Brunson's assessment, he was amazed at how athletic basketball players are.
