Tyler Herro is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Miami Heat in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Before starting his NBA career, he played college basketball for the University of Kentucky Wildcats.
Herro attended Whitnall High School in Greenfield, Wisconsin where he was a standout basketball player. As a senior in high school in 2018, he averaged 32.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game.
Herro played one season of college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats in 2018-2019. As a freshman at Kentucky, he averaged 14.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game while shooting 35.5% from 3-point range. He helped lead the Wildcats to the Elite Eight of the 2019 NCAA Tournament. He was named to the All-SEC Second Team and the SEC All-Freshman Team following his stellar first college season.
Herro decided to forego his remaining college eligibility after one year and declared for the 2019 NBA draft.

He averaged 20.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists while shooting 39.9% on 3-pointers. He won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award for his contributions off the bench. The Heat reached the Eastern Conference Finals before losing to the Boston Celtics.
However, in the 2022-23 season, Herro averaged around 20.1 points with 5.4 rebounds. His outstanding performance along with Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler led the team to the NBA Finals. Unfortunately, the Heat lost the Finals to the Denver Nuggets.
